Trick Dog

Prerequisite: Basic Manners or S.T.A.R. Puppy

Cost: $50

Meets: Once a week (1 hour) for 3 weeks, test on week 4

Is your dog a trickster? Or do you just want to do more and have fun with your dog? Join our Trick Dog class and work on your routine. After three weeks learning tricks, we will test on week four. Any dog that performs correctly will earn the title of Trick Dog. Dogs do not need to be purebred or AKC registered to participate.

Novice Trick Dog tricks include:

  • Walk on low board a few inches off floor

  • Speak

  • Crawl

  • Fetch

  • Find treat hidden under cup

  • Get your _____ (Leash, brush, name of toy)

  • Get in a box

  • Get on low platform or step - 4 paws

  • Hand signals (down, sit, or come)

  • High five

  • Hold an object (3 seconds)

 

  • Jump through a low hoop or over a low bar

  • Go in crate, stay in until released

  • Give Kiss

  • 2 front paws on low stool or step

  • Push-ups (sit, down, sit, down, sit, down)

  • Shake hands

  • Spin in circle

  • Touch hand or target stick

  • Tunnel

  • Handler’s choice
